Publicity (Cornwall Live here) encouraging more candidates
to stand for Penzance Town Council appears to be yielding results with healthy
competition and a vote looking likely in most wards in Penzance with perhaps
the exception of Gulval.
This blog is used to promote independent candidates in the run up to elections but in between elections it is used to promote matters of local interest in Penzance that are too long and complex for Facebook.

Candidate Nomination Papers.
The Notice of Election will be formally issued on Monday 20th
but candidate packs for Penzance Town Council candidates are already available
from the Penzance Town Council Office.
Candidate packs for Cornwall Council candidates are available from
Cornwall Council officers in St Austel – address and contact details are the
link here.
The ‘drop dead’ deadline for return of nomination papers is
4 April (4pm) at Cornwall Council offices in St Austel. As papers are inspected for errors which might take 24 hrs to rectify leaving the handing in of papers to 4 April is a risk.
To avoid a 90 mile round trip to St Austel,
the practical deadline is 29 March (6 pm) at St John’s Hall. Papers (for councillor posts in the St Ives Constituency) can
be accepted at St John’s Hall on 24th and 29th Mar (9am –
1 pm and 2pm – 6 pm). They can also be
accepted on Sat 25 Mar 9am – 1 pm.
